If you would look on the Husova street you might notice that it's repair is almost done. Workers covered several layers of asphalt, finished tram rails and almost finished sidewalks. However Šilingrova street is still being repaired.
The city hall wants to finish reconstruction of the Husova street as soon as possible. It must be done before the celebrations "Brno - the city in the middle of Europe". And all the rest should be completely finished in the August-September.
"Both streets should be finished before last days of August. From the 1st of September on the Husova Street will run first tram with passengers," said director of construction Josef Diviš.
Czech Roads have a new concurrent.
Czech Roads - the Czech railway company has a new concurrent in the business. Railway Authority has issued a license to operate on Czech railways to RegioJet, a part of the Student Agency.
Student Agency is a well known company from Brno, which operates the nationwide network of yellow buses which now seems to have ambitions to go on rails.
"Getting a license was the first necessary step. Sure it declares our interest in entering the rail transport market" said Jan Paroubek, the Chairman of the Board of RegioJet.
Private carriers have to operate on the less important lines, such as in border areas as Šumperk - Kouty nad Desnou in the Olomouc Region for example.
It looks like train passengers will finally get better rail services as the carriers are obviously starting to compete.
