marriage in Brno
Help!!!
We are going to get married in Brno on our vacation. We are from Russia. For registration we must to have some document about legally staying in the Czech Republic from Foreigner’s Police. Do you know exact name of this document? Where is appropriate Foreigner’s Police in Brno? In which day of week and what time does it work?
We will appreciate all replies in advance. We are looking forward your advices. Our happiness endangered
Hi folks! Congratulations! Счастья вам!! Marriage is a cool thing.
There are two foreign police offices in BRNO, one on Cejl 62B and the other one on Hnevkovskeho 65. The one on Cejl is for short term stay related issues (visas, invitation letters, etc); the other one - on Hnevkovskeho - is for long stay and permanent residence permits.
I am not sure what papers you need in order to get married here, but I can try calling them and asking. I also have a friend who got married here a couple of months ago (also coming from CIS) so I'll ask him as well.
Thank you very much for your reply in advance. Looking forward for information! :)))
So, I called that friend of mine today, and he said it's almost impossible for two people who don't live in Czech Republic to get married here. :( You will need many documents (papers from the registration office of your state that you are not married, you passports, birth certificates, registration documents certifying the place of your living, and more that I'm not aware of) - all translated in Czech language and then apostilled. They said although they live here, and both have permanent registration in Czech Republic it took them around half a year to collect all the necessary documents. He said he would call the girl from the registration office they got married in and ask if that's possible at all, as the guys in foreign police are not the correct ones to ask such kind of questions.
I'll let you know if I find out more on the topic.
It's a pity. What is "registration documents certifying the place of your living"? About other documents from yor list we know so-so.
We don't think, that marriage is so difficult in Czech Republic. We read, that Czech law-makers simplified this process, but we have downloaded scheame of marriage process which includes 6 stages on Czech language. We didn't undestand and could't translate this infernal scheme. We know that foreigners can get married in Czech Republic, because there are many wedding agencies, which give this service for good money. But we decided to win difficulties ourselves. I feel, that we have to meet with a agency. We wrote to registry office in Brno and we got the answer, that we can catch all for 2 weeks.
Thank you very much for help!!!!
